Remove the head unit. If you are unfamiliar with how to remove it, here's
.
Attach the Stereo Wire Harness Kit(American International Part #TWH950) to the 2 harnesses hanging out of the dash. It should be VERY obvious which harness goes to where, and they should be perfect fits or else you better check to make sure you have the right parts! Now you should have a good clump of wires hanging out of your dash. Here's where it gets difficult to explain due to everyone using different colored wires. The two harnesses are logically seperated by what the wires are used for. One harness is for the output to your speakers, and the other harness is for the power, dimmer, accessory, ground, etc. On your new car stereo, the speaker outputs need to be connected to the harness for the speakers, and the ground wire(usually black), the constant battery power(usually yellow), and the accessory(or switched) power(usually red) are then connected to the other wire harness, as specified in the Stereo Wire Harness Kit.

Trim it and mount it good! You kinky bastard.. I'm talking about the dash kit! Small pieces need to be trimmed on the kit, as specified in Dash Kit instructions. I used tin snips and sharp razor knife to trim. Mount your head unit on the Dash Installation Kit. There are 2 holes on each side wall of the installation kit, and there's offset washers that go in those holes that allow for head units that stick out farther than others. Put your din head unit in the kit and position the washers so that your head unit is as flush to the front of the kit as you'd like. The yellow circles in the picture below show where the washers go to screw in the din head unit from the sides.

Slide in your stereo and test! Very important step. You don't want to screw everything in place to find out something was mis-wired. Also this gives you a chance to make sure the offset washers on the side of the dash kit are positioned correctly and your head unit isn't sticking out too far. This one looked like a really good fit, and of course it worked on the first try :)

Assuming step 4 works, put in all the same screws and bolts you took out. Your done dude!

if you have any questions. Happy RAV'n!
