This section isn't about an aftermarket battery, but you better believe it WILL be once my stock one loses ions.
Ever get stuck in the unfortunate situation of having to jump start someone else's vehicle? Ever have it even more unfortunate that it was YOUR battery has died? Murphy's Law dictates that it has to be -20 degrees Celsius in pitch black conditions, and of course you'd have to be naked to make it credible.
Here's my cheezy solution to not having to pop off the stupid battery cover. What the heck was Toyota thinking in having the battery covered, especially when the cover is held in place with little clips that are guaranteed to break within a few cover removals? If you have no clue what I'm talking about, just try to get to your battery. There's a bunch of way stupid clips that are difficult to take off, and even more difficult to put back on without breaking. Again I ask.. What the heck was Toyota thinking? So far this is my ONLY complaint about the RAVie's design. Bad... Bad... Toyota!
Nothing too magical here. Since I already wired my multimedia system, I took advantage of using a 180A 20VDC circuit breaker placed on the bracket directly in front of where the stupid battery is. On the battery-side of the circuit breaker, I put an extra nut so that if I needed to jump start someone, all I had to do is clamp onto the nut.. meaning NO MORE EMBARASSMENT! I really can't believe the RAV was designed with that battery cover. The battery should be accessable because any emergency that would require a quick jump can NOT be performed using the RAV. Anyways, for such a small mod, something similar to this someday would definitely positively for sure keep you from freezing while naked on a pitch black night... someday.. Thank me later!

if you have any questions. Happy RAV'n!
